I'm Jessica and my passion is creating spaces where we can name and examine whiteness so that we can show up more fully and work toward a more equitable world.
As a partner to a black man and parent to biracial children, I’ve witnessed firsthand how skin color shapes daily life in profoundly different ways. The contrast between my own experiences as a white person and those of my loved ones pushed me to ask deeper questions about injustice and belonging. I realized that while there were resources about racism and oppression, there was little guidance on how to examine whiteness itself—and how it shapes our identities, choices, and communities.
With a Master’s in counseling psychology and advanced training in Narrative Therapy, I’ve developed an approach that helps people uncover the stories we’ve inherited about race and power. This work isn’t about blame—it’s about seeing clearly, naming what often goes unnamed, and creating the possibility of something better.
Through Hello Whiteness, I offer individual consultations, group workshops, and guest lectures that invite people to do the inner and collective work of confronting whiteness. My goal is to help us all step into more honest, courageous, and equitable ways of being together.
I also share my personal journey on my blog, committed to walking the talk in my daily life.
