Ignoring Isn't
Neutral.

Looking at how whiteness shapes us—so we can care more deeply, act more justly, and move toward equity and wholeness together

Why Focus on Whiteness?

Whiteness shapes race and inequity in the U.S., touching all of our lives in different ways.

Whiteness is not neutral or natural. It was created to justify violence, harm, and the dehumanization of people who were not seen as white. These ideas were protected by U.S. laws and policies and passed down through generations. They are still at work today—and they will continue unless we name and address them.

Whiteness lives through stories about belonging, safety, and worth. Most of us didn’t choose these stories, but we’ve been shaped by them. And because they were made up, they can be questioned and changed. When whiteness is named instead of hidden, we gain more choice. More honesty. More room for care, responsibility, and connection.

At Hello Whiteness, we slow down and get curious about these stories—personal and collective. We ask: Where did they come from? Who do they serve? What do they cost us? And what other stories might be possible?

MY APPROACH

What do we do with whiteness?

We start by noticing and naming it. We pay attention to where it shows up in our lives—how it shapes our habits, our relationships, and the stories we tell about ourselves and others. This can be hard to see at first. That’s okay. We slow down, listen beyond our own experience, and stay curious instead of certain..

This isn’t about shame or blame. It’s about stepping out of old patterns like denial or silence—patterns that keep harm in place. For white people especially, this matters. Whiteness was built through choices and stories, and it continues when we don’t look at our part in it. By examining our role honestly, and journeying together, we can act and relate differently, repair harm, and open space for meaningful change.

The good news is that stories can always be rewritten. We can redefine our identities, reshape our relationships, and live in ways that align with our values. At Hello Whiteness, we work alongside individuals, families, teams, and communities to notice whiteness, explore its impact, and imagine new possibilities—creating space for freedom, justice, and wholeness for ourselves, each other, and the world we are shaping together.

Workshops & Presentations

Achieve together

Conversations about race, especially whiteness, can be frustrating for mission-based or faith-based communities trying to engage meaningfully.

I work with groups navigating this challenge by designing structured, facilitated discussions and customized workshops that explore individual and team dynamics around whiteness and race. The goal is to cultivate practices of accountability and responsibility, helping teams build an empathic, compassionate culture that supports everyone in living out their shared values.
